Note – Barcode registration is included with all of the barcode numbers we sell. You should only purchase barcode registration if you have a barcode through another provider you wish to register.

When you get to the checkout page, please enter your barcode numbers into the “enter your barcode number(s) here” box. If you have more than one barcode number, please separate each number with a comma. We will then send you an email asking for proof that you own the barcode numbers. When we receive proof of barcode ownership, we will activate your barcode numbers for registration and give you instructions on registering them on https://barcodesdatabase.org/.

  • Barcode Registration

    If you purchase Barcode Registration, you will be able to register your barcode number and product information on the International Barcodes Database (information registered on that database filters through to several other major online databases as well). Please enter your barcode number(s) in the “additional information” section on the checkout page. Once we receive your order, we will email you to request proof of ownership (so that we can verify that you are the owner of your barcode number). We will then activate your barcode number for registration, and provide you with instructions on how to register your barcode number (please note that Registration is included for free if you purchase one of our Barcode Packages).

What is Barcode Registration?

Barcode registration is an optional service that we offer to increase the internet profile of your product generally. This service is completely optional and is not required for any barcode numbers as there is no central database for barcodes. However, there are several advantages to registering your barcodes online.

Barcode registration is included free with our barcode packages. Hence, this should only be purchased if you have acquired a barcode outside of a barcode package.

  1. Barcode registration helps with some cell phone app scanners (such as the Zebra app) so that when the product barcode is scanned, the product information will appear. Click here for more information on barcode scanning apps.
  2. Barcode registration will increase the product’s internet profile so that when the barcode is searched for on Google or another search engine, the product information will appear.
  3. If a barcode is registered on internet databases, it can dissuade people from using the barcode number illegally on sites like Amazon. If a quick internet search tells the person that that barcode number is in use, they will be much less likely to use the barcode. While people cannot legally use legitimately sold barcode numbers, it is an extra hassle for the barcode number’s legal owner to follow this up if they are being used illegally. This can be easily avoided with barcode registration.

NOTE we will require proof of your ownership of the barcode number – this is to demonstrate that the barcode number you wish to register actually belongs to you. Please email us proof of ownership after you place your order.

Once we receive your order, we will contact you regarding registering your barcode number. This will normally take 2-24 hours, depending on the time of day/week that you make the order. Our normal office hours are 7am-7pm Mon-Fri (NZ time), plus we process some orders on Saturday whenever possible.
